But, it's a bit trickier than the other sources. Since I'm just accessing the Pandora website and not a real API, the volume control in Pandora (which I'm not sure even works), controls the volume for DriveLine as a whole. In fact, when running under XP, I think it controls the system volume. So I can mute it, but I can't pause it. I don't know what's actually playing, so I can't display it in the status bar at the bottom, and since I don't know what's playing, I can't look up the lyrics. And of course, fitting a 5th tab on that Media screen might get a bit tight.

On an unrelated note, I think Yahoo updated their Weather API to provide a 5 day forecast now. But I'm only displaying Current conditions and a 2-day forecast (today and tomorrow). I wonder if I should start thinking about expanding the weather display. I just don't want to make each day so small that it's hard to read. Maybe an Extended Forecast tab....
I may be WAY behind, sorry if I am. Keep finding gold nuggets while searching.

In my house I use a Logitech Squeezebox since all of the controls are wide open with it so my home automation system can grab whatever it wants. This lets the volume and play/pause of source be controlled by one app with hooks to whatever automation you want. They have a "soft" version of it called Squeezesoft which should manage all media including Pandora, Internet Radio, your local music collection and more.

If implementing Pandora is tough this may be another route to do so. Of course they must install something that manages Pandora in able to do so which may be easier as well.

*I'll go back and read the whole thread, but saw this and wanted to comment.

I will re-visit the Pandora implementation when I have some time. I know there are libraries for working with it. It's just one more thing to learn, wrap, and integrate. And it's a feature I never use, so it's on the back burner for the moment.

However, there are some fun new things simmering on the front burners:
    4-up camera display.
Turn-by-turn directions provided by the AI/Samantha. ("In 100 feet, turn left...")
    Better radio volume control.
OBD Code-Reader might be ready in time for next release.
    A right-click on the video/visualization will toggle full-screen, just like a long-hold.
    Fixes, performance improvements, etc.

Hopefully in the next few days, but not until it's done marinating.

Also, I have some ideas in the back of my mind (still in the fridge).
    - Volume control for embedded apps.
    - Set DriveLine to auto-mute when certain embedded apps uses the speakers.

The last test build seems to work much better, hd radio is adjusting volume now but xm still does nothing, up/down no change. muting works fine in all media sources. I will find out which is plugged into what. SNO

OK, I tested the turn by turn directions this morning on the way to work, and it worked great. It told me all the correct turns in advance, and even told me which city I was in as I passed through them.

Continuing testing the turn by turn directions, and am really happy with it's performance. This morning I tried another route to work from that plotted by the pc. First time the AI told me it could not access the internet, so it did not update the route. I suspect if I had my hotspot on, all I would have to do is ask for directions again and it would plot the new route from my current position.

What I did was to store some of my popular destinations into Driveline Locations, and use the voice command "Directions to XXXX" where XXXX is the desired location.

I'm glad to hear this is working so well. Getting this to work was actually a fun challenge. Lots of math. It's probably still not 100%, but it's close.

Plus, it gives Samantha something new to talk about.

So, turn-by-turn will most likely be enabled in the next release.
