Just edit to where it should be,also can be added things like
content="/my storage/program files/iGO8/CONTENT"
map .....etc,etc to be spesific.
But i forgot it is either "/" or "\" , i no longer have it.
Hope you already fix it before this though.
Hey thanks for the tip I will give it a try later tonight SNO
Microsoft Streets and Trips 2013 and Mappoint 2013 working fine in embed window. Still need to get iGO8 working correctly and some time to try out Sygic. SNO
where were you able to get a copy of the Garmin software? I have not been able to find a working link for it. MapFactor (which I have been using) is terrible and I would like a replacement.
Check your mesages Duncanator24 maybe I can help SNO
I saw a post at some point from SNO and thought Driveline lood interesting, so I'm giving it a go. I have a not so powerful machine (Thin Client - 1Ghz - 500MB RAM). The good thing is that it only takes about 18 Watts to run it.
I have Streets And Trips 2007, and I see that the shortcut on the Apps screen starts it. I've got xport running and I can see GPS data in both Driveline and S+T. My problem is that Streets And Trips 2007 does not embed properly. I'm willing to edit settings.xml if that's what it takes.
I also have a Directed HD unit if you need another tester. I have Mitch's cable as well. My only difference in running the HD unit is that the Thin Client does not have a line in. It has a microphone in though. In the whole scheme of things that's not so bad. I was considering keeping my current head unit. Currently I have an external 10 Disc CD changer that is starting to act up. Years ago I bought a box that goes between the head unit and the CD changer that allows for Aux inputs. One of those Aux inputs is a USB input. The Input box shows up on the computer as USB speakers. I would be able to run the HD radio audio into the Aux input selector box, then when I want HD radio I can simply change the head unit to play the Aux input, not the USB.
Looking forward to playing with Driveline!
I haven't moved the new radio stuff into the release version yet, so use the version from my website. Not the one on mp3car.
As for streets and trips, I'll have to see if I can find my version and install it to see how it embeds. But from my experience, there are better free alternatives to S+T.
That's one item I forgot to mention in my last post. I am really willing to try out some of the free nav apps. If anyone can suggest any, provide reviews and links, that would be great.
I'm not really in love with S+T, it's just what I have. I know that it's not really touchscreen friendly.
There's a free version of PC Navigator that seems pretty good.
Honestly, I don't really use navigation apps too much. If I need to find my way somewhere, I add the address as a location in DriveLine and pull up directions and traffic through there. It's not as pretty, and it requires an internet connection, but it's easy. Maybe someone else can recommend some other navigation software.
I'm very glad to hear that we'll have another radio tester.
I'll do some searching for PC navigator.
I'm not going to have an internet connection in the car. I use a flip phone from Tracfone, and it does not tether, and it's not smart. I can't see paying big bucks every month for a data plan. I also don't text ot talk on the phone much. SO for now, the Tracfone is about $7 a month.
I am on the list to get a beta wave for Republic Wireless. They get $20 a month and you get unlimited Talk-Text-Web. You do have to buy the phone for a couple hundred bucks though. The premise of that system is that you will use it most of the time it a wi-fi zone. Once I get the republic phone I might look at tethering.
I was reading the thread about the VB code and was seeing some posts about bluetooth. That is one thing I would like to have working. Does Driveline require the Bluesoliel program?
