I really should go with a 2-screen setup in my car someday.
I was also wondering if it's possible to mirror image a screen? The reason I ask is it would be easy to install a open frame monitor on any dashboard, and stick a thin transparent mylar film to the windshield that would act as first surface mirror to give a fighter pilot heads up display. Would that be cool!

My car came with a built-in Heads Up Display. I love it. I think all cars should come with them. Anyway, to clarify what you're getting at for those who may not be as familiar with HUDs... You're requesting that it be possible to mirror the screen (vertical flip), so the text and images are up-side-down when looking at the screen. This way, when the screen is projected onto a windshield and reflected back to your eyes, it would appear right-side-up.
It would take a fair amount of work. Unless.... If I added a special option where Screen #2 became a mirror (flipped) image of screen #1. In that case, it would probably just use a timer that took a screen-shot of screen #1, flipped it, and then drew the flipped image onto screen #2. I could probably make all of this work through skin commands with a little work. Ideally, you'd have the option of projecting the entire screen, or just speed and direction.
Also, now that I think about it, I suppose you could turn the monitor 180 degrees and then mirror horizontally instead. Not sure. Lots of work today. Brain is fried.
A cool feature , would be to have an indicator that blinking for each SMS or MMS received ! (MAP feature of BlueSoleil SDK) :-)
And why not the possibility to read each SMS !
I agree. Now that I've got my hands on the latest SDK, I just need to upgrade by BlueSoleil license and do some work with the new SDK features. Eventually, I will probably split the BlueTooth screen into 3 tabs: Dialer, Contacts, and Messaging. DriveLine already has a lot of code for the speech API, so I could probably even do voice-dictation of messages as well as reading new messages out loud. Thanks for the suggestions. I've seen that you've been doing a lot of good work with BlueSoleil.
Thanks. That means a lot to me. I put a lot of time and thought into writing good code. So it's awesome to hear that my code is able to help someone. That's why I like to provide source code for my projects.
I just thought of something fun... If Phidget I/O were configurable per button press. Example, in the visualization I select HD Radio, and it automatically turns on a Phidget Digital Output which I wire to drive the antenna up or power the antenna amplifier.
Or maybe you could configure the eject button to turn on a light over the CD player for configurable time, like 15 seconds so you can grab the cd, and replace with a different one at a stop light?
Technically, you could do all of this through the skin commands. Making it easy to setup through a UI would be difficult though, since the options are pretty much limitless.
