Interesting suggestion. I'll have to give this one some thought. I always appreciate new ideas.

I said I updated the ZIP on my website. I never said that I updated the change-log.

It's really my wife's idea for playlist buttons.

My wife hates goth metal, but likes hip-hop, so when she drives she would be able to turn off my music and select her playlist real easy with playlist buttons.

I showed her how the front end works so she can change playlists the traditional method, but she's lazy and said she will just listen to radio instead, cause it has station buttons.

I think the easiest solution would be to set up a few playlists for her and save them in the My Playlists folder. Maybe even a big one with all of her music and she could just hit Shuffle. I'll keep thinking about this one.

Just as an opinion here. RideRunner with DFX skin has a "10 Disk Changer". Essentially 10 quickly selectable playlists. You can add and delete songs from them on the fly, randomize them, etc. It's one of my favorite features in RR...

Not sure how difficult it would be to, say, add another screen with 10 buttons, and manage the playlists from there. It does make life much easier for the user.

This version is working just fine! I still don't see RDS but it could be that my test box is too far away from the station to populate. Can someone confirm RDS is working on HD radio FM channels? Thanks SNO

That is interesting information. Guess mine will need to have at least 11 then. Putting it on a separate screen definitely makes it easier than trying to cram it into the Now Playing window or the Current Playlist window. And it's good to see that other users might be interested in the same feature. I wouldn't expect this feature to be added this week, but I will be trying some things to see if I can implement this without breaking everything.

The thing is, ultimately, this is just putting the stored playlists into buttons instead of listing them. And clearing the current playlist before adding the newly selected playlist. I might actually be able to cheat and use a listview with tiles. That way, if the user has more than what fits on the screen, they can scroll the list. But then, wouldn't it be better to have them in a normal textual list so you can see the full playlist name even if it's long? If so, then it's just a matter of having a list dedicated to the My Playlists folder.

Hell, why not make it a dirty dozen? LOL

I forgot, RideRunner also tells you how many songs are in each "Virtual Disc", and there is a little icon that shows which disc is loaded. It's supposed to emulate as if you have a 10 disc cd changer.

Is anybody going to cry if I make .Net 4.0 the required Framework (instead of 3.0)?

I want to move to VB.NET 2012, but DriveLine won't work with Framework 3.0 for some reason. But it does work with Framework 4.0.

4.0 is the final .Net Framework that will work on WinXP. Otherwise, I'd consider 4.5.
