Also should note, that in device manager the 0/12 stats in use is there whether or not the baud rate is set to 9600 or 4800.

Okay. It sounds like the GPS is fine. Just can't get a fix due to being inside. I'll update the program to indicate "GPS Not Found" vs not having a GPS Fix.

I don't know if anyone is using DriveLine with an iPhone. I'd like to hear from anyone who is. All of my testing has been with Android phones.

DriveLine requires BlueSoleil (i think version 6.4 or higher) and a compatible BlueTooth adapter. Assuming you have these things, pair your phone with your PC via the BlueSoleil software. Start DriveLine and go into the Settings window. Under BlueTooth Device Name, you should see your phone in the list. Select it. If it doesn't connect, you may need to restart DriveLine.

I need to buy BlueSoileil to even see if it will work? I read your stickys and non of them mentioned this BlueSoleil software. Is there a more in depth setup overview link I can read?

I think BlueSoleil is required by every front-end that uses BlueTooth audio. To my knowledge, BlueSoleil is the only BlueTooth stack that enables the audio transfer. If anyone can confirm this (or refute it), I would appreciate it. If I can find another way to do it that doesn't require BlueSoleil, I will do cartwheels while I write the code.

Personally, I hate the requirement of BlueSoleil. I think the way bluetooth has been implemented differently by different manufacturers is stupid and chaotic. This may change with the Windows 8 implementation of BlueTooth, but for now, I think everyone is stuck with BlueSoleil. There's a trial version of the BlueSoleil software, and some USB BlueTooth adapters come with the BlueSoleil software.

Some posts regarding BlueSoleil and other front-ends:

No apologies required. You make a good point that all of this should be layed out somewhere for the newbies to read about.

Unfortunately, some parts of a CarPC setup aren't as straight-forward as they should be. BlueTooth is probably the worst, for the reasons I mentioned above. Navigation can also be sketchy, just because there are different choices of software.

Things like media playback are easy. Most single-purpose hardware devices are easy, like radios, obd, gps, cameras, sensors, brightness control, etc. Internet functions are easy, like geolocation, weather, maps, web browsers, etc.
