That begin very well this thing !!!
I did a test this morning with a 3$ microphone positioned right above the steering wheel. Well my friend did hear me talking and driving at 90km/h on a noisy road. and my car has a loud exhaust too :-) this is a 3$ microphone. there was some noise though but my friend understood all what I said !! I guess with a CVC license (clear voice capture) from CSR or with a better microphone the board would behave even better. I was able to have a 20 mn conversation yesterday with a friend using the Andrea DA-350 microphone. With this mic I can even lower the windows :-) My friend didn't complain about any audio quality or asked me to repeat anything :-)
I updated the firmware of the baord and I will ask the Lard guys, who by the way are very reactive, about the possibility of adding a CVC license to the board for testing. SO THIS IS VERY PROMISING INDEED :-)
looks good. I sent a detailed email of what I want to do with the board to one of the Laird support guys and I'm waiting for a reply of a european field engineer.
but even out of the box the board is the way to go. I just have to make the app to dial/hangup and espcially to mute the sound card when a call comes in. i will connect both the speaker_out of the board and the speaker_out of the carpc soundcard to the car amplifier input and use the app to mute the soundcard when a call comes in.
Nice find the price for the dev kit is 39.00 us SNO
I'll also be following this. It looks quite interesting. I recently picked up one of those DA-350's on ebay for $40.00. I also have a parrot kit. I was hoping someday that Bluetooth could be integrated effectively, without using an external solution.
looks good but does support HFP (Hands Free Profile).... so no BT phone support !!!!
I'll contact them to get further info.
My app is almost ready. So It goes like this:
When call comes in => windows master volume is muted
when call ends => windows volume is restored to what is was before.
I'm going to wire speaker out line of the board to the the same line going in the car amplifier. when a call comes the carpc sound is muted and the the board audio comes out of the speakers. haven't tried it yet but should work just fine.
Will update soon.
If you guys know of any decent Microphone I can test for you. Otherwise my test won't help you much as I have only the DA-350 mic and a 3$ one.
One thing is sure there is no Bluetooth connection or pairing issues :-)

Well from what I understood this board has changable modules (if I'm wrong please correct me) and this module http://www.microchip.com/wwwproducts...cName=en560765 supports HFP ;-)
Edit: it seems i was wrong... There is special evaluation kit with this module priced something about 160$. Sorry
