did a test today with a friend in the car ( while driving). the person we were calling did hear both of us without issues. the mic is positionned on my side on the sun visor.
Next step is to get hold of a license for CRS's latested technology: Clear Voice capture.
As for the mic I will try to get one of those microphones sold with hands free kits and test it for you.

Well I did an extensive research before finding this kind of device :-)
i even tested 2 boards form Bluesoleil but the microphone never worked on those boards.
I even sent several emails to companies who were selling similar products and products lacking HFP support...
But I guess I have found the right one :-)

I have the Andrea DA-350 mic that I snagged off ebay for $40 too. I currently have the Bluesoliel stack loaded, but if your stuff works in Driveline, I'll pay the price for a development board too. Go Driveline!

my stuff is kind of frontend-free :-) it can work with any frontend. you connect the USB cable and use the board sending AT commands... For the moment I'm making a standalone app to test the board. something like a dialpad + some buttons to connect/configure the board. Integration with DriveLine is pretty easy :-) ClockWork can do it in a breeeze :-)
i will update this thread with further info.
This morning I did a test driving at 100km/h with both driver and passenger windows down. and my friend could hear me :-) This is mostly due to the Andrea Micophone but the board is in it for something as I already tried with USb dongles and that was impossible to do.

struggling with wiring here: options are:
    1. use a dedicated speaker for the output of the board. works fine (prefered option)
    2. route the board output through the soundcard line in = > echo
    3. add a mixer to have a Y like connection where the board outpu and the soundcard output go both to the same output (audio amp) => haven't found one a compact one yet.

The board is working pretty fine. I have to find a simple hands free microphone to test too.
My app is almost done. Bluetooth connection/reconnection (when you disable/enable BT on thte phone) is working fine.
I will have to make a DriveLine plugin or something like that or just send the source code to Clockwork to inject into driveline.
For the moment it's a standalone app with several tabs: dial, config, recent...).

here is the dev board from MicroChip:
    http://www.microchipdirect.com/Produ...?Keywords=RN52

It does support HFP. No Phonebook or Message profiles. Same as the Laird board.
