we have discussed too. you know my touchscreen and it's drivers has that option on default ( turning a long press into a right click ) but looking around the touchscreen's software i saw a setting about timing . i set the right click on 3000ms and then voilą everything worked fine .

    But i told you already you are a genius,didn't i ?

on the voice commands kind disappointed that it working on the window shell. i was training that speech recognition for about 30 min ( a month ago didn't knew about driveline and voice commands) . i can say i was impressed by the cleverness of this program while was on training mode. i told myself hey if ms cant after all who can. But then again i opened the program to test it ( car moved windows closed a typical vw isolation) and i got very dissapointed . it couldn't even recognise escape , up , enter....!

so i gave up on the speech recognition.

thing that i suspect everybody with a low budget (<20$) microphone will do.

I've done a lot of work with voice/speech over the last week. Some very good stuff that will be in the next release version. I even added a microphone button to the OSK. But I need ideas for more to do with voice/speech.

Examples of things you could say to DriveLine:
"What .. weather?" (responds with weather for today/tonight)
"What time?" (responds with time of day)
"What day" (responds with current day/date)
"Where am I?" (responds with location, bearing)
"Directions .. Home" (or "Directions .. Work", etc)
    "Dim/Brighten .. Screen/Monitor"
"Play .." (this one is really smart. You could say "Play next Green Day song" or "Play a random song by Green Day" or "Play next favorite" or "Play previous", etc.)
There are some other things too, but they're part of a secret project.

The question is this: What else would people like to be able to do through voice-commands or "Auditory Interaction"?

I would like a command to switch playlists, a command to turn on/off phidget outputs, a command to change audio source from media to HD radio, a command to reboot the pc if I need to.

That functionality is actually already built into DriveLine. There's a file called Skin_SkinVoiceCommands.XML that pairs voice commands with skin actions.

Of course, all the hotkeys can be configured as well through Skin_Hotkeys.XML.

I recommend waiting for the next version though. I've made so many fixes and changes to how voice commands work over the last week.

Also clockwork i don't know if you could do anything about voice commands and phone integration. I know that bluetooth is not something reliable at this moment but it would be nice if you could call a number by voice command ( even better if you could call a contact) . I would like to have commands on the program sections. i mean it could be as ( 1 for first program , 2 for the second one and etc) If i remember correctly they are around 10 programs cells . the number would be an easy thing so no matter on what screen you are you could run programs in the driveline. The fullscreen on the video as a command would be an option ( for the kids ) .

These are what i can think right now.

When do you think we ll have a release ?

As for voice-dialing, there's a button on the BlueTooth screen that you can hold down to issue voice-commands to your phone. That might work. Give it a shot. I think you could hold the button down and say "Call Mom" and it will search your contacts for a number. When you hold down the button, I think there will be some kind of indicator on your phone that it is listening for a voice command. If the blue-tooth method doesn't work, I can always add commands that would search your Contacts list if you've imported a VCard into DriveLine.

One thing I want to mention about voice-recognition in DriveLine -- Right now it's triggered by clicking a 'Start Listening' button (or performing a long-hold on the status-bar). The voice-recognition is not in 'Always Listening' mode. And it won't be until I'm extremely confident that it won't incorrectly pick up unintentional commands. I am going to experiment with 'Always Listening' mode a little later.

I'm anxious to get the next release out. However, I try to never put out a release until I've confirmed with a few testers that everything is working correctly. The next update is a big one, so there's a lot of testing to do still. Probably another week.

Also, I don't know if anyone will care, but the next version will also support MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) for devices that do not expose a "Mass Storage" interface such as some Cell Phones, Cameras, etc.
