I could start using newer .Net Framework version 4.5
Cleaner code involving audio mixer.
Reasons to say yes:
I don't know.

Agreed Use this last build as the final xp supported version and move forward. Your not abandoning the xp user as this build is feature complete. not a big fan of 8, though 8.2 is looking like it will bring back some 7 function without using 3rd party addons. the corporate world will not move to 8 as is. SNO
I swear all this radio stuff used to be pretty solid. Not sure why I'm having an issue now. Anyone else having issues with the latest version and radio volume control? Anyone not having issues?
My radio volume is working fine, but my antenna sucks. Waiting on a new amplified antenna.
I'm adding the plugins on a Win 8 machine.
So go for it.
Yes, yes, I am still working on it just trying to get the code added to the core generic for plugins rather than just Fuel Prices and not just my plugins.
I can't remember the last time I had a release go so poorly. Some users were fine. Some encountered an error caused by the speech engine being unable to enumerate installed voices. Some have encountered issues with volume control on radios.
I fixed the speech issue. There's no reason to enumerate the voices. DriveLine will use the default voice. If you want to change it, then you can change it within Windows Speech settings.
I'm fixing the radio/volume control right now by rewriting part of the mixer controls. Instead of trying to figure out what got broken, I'm just writing something new that I know works.
I won't be explicitly removing compatibility with XP at this time. DriveLine will still work on XP. My motivation was for a cleaner implementation of the sound/mixer system. However, after weighing my options, I don't think banning XP is necessary at this time. Maybe if .Net Framework 5.0 has some amazing new features, then XP will be left behind.
I would like to give a big "Thank You" to the users that reported feedback, went through a few rounds of testing, and ultimately helped me resolve these issues.
And if you're currently experiencing issues with radio volume/mute, a fix should be available either tonight or tomorrow. And hey, it sounds like Fuel Prices and other plugins might be coming soon. So, lots of good stuff going on.
Unfortunately, for now, I have to go write code to convert Word 97 documents to HTML while merging variable data.
.net 4.5 for me :-)
