    Parking Sensors Forward and Reverse...

I noticed there is a screen for forward and reverse parking sensors. What kind of sensor kit do we look for. There are many cheap $12 kits on ebay, but they seem to only output a buzzer signal, so it's not clear how to interface those type.

How does the setup work with Driveline... special proximity sensors with a USB interfaced kit?

    Thanks,
    Robert

You hit the nail on the head. The buzzers are crap (though you could maybe take one apart to hack together an analog input for a phidget).

    Most questions are answered here:
    Parking Distance add on

Basically, there are two kits. Each kit is 4 sensors. One uses 4 wired sensors, and one uses 4 wireless sensors. Regardless of the kit, the sensors communicate with an interface box that is connected to the PC via USB.
The sensors are to be mounted (drilled) into the bumpers. 4 in the front, 4 in the rear.

In order to use two kits at the same time (front and rear), one must be wired and the other wireless.

As far as DriveLine is concerned, it's one of those things that just works. Programming the graphical part of it was a lot of fun.

rray you already have half the unit with my box, if you have the 2 board system. if not I have the top board that goes with the 1 board unit and I have the parking sensors that work with this system and Driveline . SNO

I'll have to look at that kit again. I was going to use of in my truck but have not started that project yet. I still have to solder it together.

If you want to keep that unit for your pickup and just get parking sensors for your camero I have single parking boards (1.75"x2.5") you would need 2 of them plus 2 parking kits to do front and rear. Complete kit 125.00 only black sensors but they can be painted, front or rear if getting both then I need to use v1.0 and v1.1 pic chips SNO

I have been researching front sensor placement on Camaro's and the ones I found really, REALLY look bad as evidenced in this thread at Camaro5: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42389

I then thought maybe I could mount them in the splitter itself (front low spoiler), but am undecided as to how that might look, as there is little space so there might be sensor shaft protruding on the topside, and it's irreversible damage if I don't like it.

There is another type called a Curb Alert that would work with an under splitter install, but it won't interface into the carpc:

I just don't know if I should do it or not. I want my car to have all the toys, but it has to stay good looking too.

You can see how the front of my car looks and how 4 sensors might mess it up:

I don't mind the look on that black car, from the factory looks like that on most cars but you tend not to notice them on an everyday basis, they are just there sort of thing. Only you can make that decision SNO
