Is it a straight through (level shifting only) cable interface or more?

Your Chevy may be VPWM (J1850) based in which case a straight thru cable may not be suitable.

i've been trying to find it online since yesterday, I can't however find an example of it.. I will try to get more information off of it tonight.. or maybe take a picture..

oh yeah, and as far as I can tell.. it is a J1962 connector to an adapter that has Delphi all over it and a serial out put.. it also came with a serial to usb adapter..

I got it from a friend who works in the industry and said they were acquired way back when a warehouse was closing or something along those lines.. sold off as obsolete parts..
