    PCMSCAN v2.3.0 has been released.

    Version 2.3.0, June 29th 2007

This new release adds support for log file bookmarks and custom audible and bookmarked alerts.

If you notice the engine misfiring or some other problem, using the log file bookmarks you can just reach over and press F6 to add a bookmark into the logged data that is being recorded. Then you can come back at any time and see exactly where the bookmark is and view the surrounding frames of data to analyze the problem.

The new alerts system allows you to configure the software to monitor any parameter(s) you like. When the specified conditions are met, the software will automatically play a sound (to warn you if you are driving) or insert a bookmark for you into the logged data that is being recorded. So, for example, if you are seeing power loss at high RPM under full throttle conditions, you can set up an alert that monitors RPM and throttle position so that when RPM is above 4000 and throttle position is above 80% you can have the software automatically add a bookmark and/or play a sound. The software has many sound files included with it, or you can supply your own.

I have this software. Can I use it on a carpc without the palmer in-between? Also, how do I go about wiring in the aux input for air fuel from an LC-1 or Zt-2? Also any way to use the Zt-2's serial to further input sensor data such as a map sensor or EGT?

You mean without an OBD-II connection? Yes, our software will work without an OBD-II connection, with only connecting to the aux inputs.

ScanXL supports more PIDs for external sensors than PCMSCAN does, and its a free udpate for existing users. Just put in your license here:

You will get updated to ScanXL Pro, not ScanXL Std.

You just select the COM Port that the LC-1 (or other) is connected to in the OBD-II Settings under the Settings tab. If you don't want the OBD-II connection, you can also check the box for "Aux Input Only" when you connect.

Will I be able to log / get display parameters and use this software and will this device work OK in centrafuse?

There are some others with higher price, just not sure what the difference is, is it just speed, there are also so cheaper units on eBay, just don't want to buy the wrong item that doesnt do want i want

    What year is your Ford?

ElmScan 5 Compact is compatible with ScanXL and Centrafuse. Just make sure you set the correct baud rate in CF (it's set to 115200 baud by default).
