Ditch the ECU, get a MegaSquirt.
OBDII ports are not meant to be used to re-map anything.
I've got a PD115 bora.
I'm wanting to remap it, i've mapped lots of other car's in the past using stand alone ECU's.
What can i buy to remap it through the OBDII port. I need software and hardware.
I'm willing to pay a fairly large sum for it, as long as it works. As i suppose i could map other car's as well.

Depends on the car, really. Remapping was sort of an afterthought to OBD2 so the cars that do support it often use proprietary protocols on the OBD2 hardware. It's worth looking for a forum dedicated to your make/model, to see what the options are.
I know nothing of the OP's car but there are cheap cables and open-source tools that allow remapping of most recent Subaru ECUs, and (from what I've heard) some Mitsubishi ECUs as well. With luck there might be something available for Boras too. Also check for tools for the US equivalent, if there is one. The ECUs are likely not too different.
grp either use a kwp2000 or 2000+ from ebay or use a galleto from ebay ,galleto is better but they both work
flashed my vw bora 150 pd numerous times whilst making myself a map for it
You said you are willing to pay a fairly large sum, and then you are not happy with a few thousands, so I am not sure how serious you are. And do you want to load a map by yourself, or do you want to do a proper re-map yourself? Are you "become a dealer" sort of serious, or are you "just want to save money" sort of serious?
I suspect the latter. In which case http://www.revotechnik.com is your friend.
If you are serious and can invest in £10k+, then get WinOLS for modifying maps and that VAG tool (sorry the name escapes me, but Google will tell you) for loading maps on plus other functions.
