I have done what everyone has done here; installed a carputer. Because I am cheap I am using WIFI not Cellular for internet. Ideally I want to develop a program that reads specified sensor information (PID'S, DTC's, Everything). I have an ELM 327. I know cheap! I can communicate through a hyper terminal. I was wondering if someone can help me get this project off the ground.
User can specify query parameters through GUI.
Specified data queries are temporarily.
When computer reaches home network, auto upload starts to server.
Server analyzes the data, communicates back to the user specified
decrepencies in sensoral patterns.
The problem I am having deals with the building of the OBDII class. I need to know what responses are possible for the OBDII standard and how many bytes are send at a time along with the formula for modifing the byte rsponses into meaningful values.
If anyone can help let me know.
I have already read that, but I have been told there are a lot more possible parameters.
Anything above and beyond that list is not a part of the OBD2 standard, and deals with proprietary manufacturer specific codes. Good luck finding them, they are not available online and you cannot purchase them from the manufacturer. They only give them out to a very few scantool creators.
If you happen to find any, please do post them
