Do you have the device plugged into the car? It will not work otherwise
hey guys, sorry if this is a stupid question, but I couldn't find any others with the same issue...
I hooked it up today, and inserted the CD. I click on the ISO version, and run the easyOBDII program and it tells me that the com port is 1 and that I should check connection and power. It's all set up from obdii to USB. And the power led turns orange when I plug in the USB.
Onother free program that comes on the scantool.net cd, and it tells me that the device is not responding and then closes the port. Anyone had this problem??

yep, it's all hooked up. To be more informative, the scantool.net software tells me that it's resetting the hardware interface, and then gives me "interface not found" after a few seconds.
I drive a 2000 Nissan Xterra, and I have the Elmscan ISO USB. I installed the ISO software, and then connected the tool when the directions told me to and installed the drivers. I noted that the 2000 nissan frontier uses ISO so since mine and that are the same vehicle (other than the truck bed) I supposed that the Xterra would use ISO too...
**EDIT** It's weird how the manufacturers will not tell you that it has to be on a specific baud rate to get their product to work.**
I fixed the problem. 9600 is the proper baud rate.
Yeah some ELM tool manufacturers aren't as good as others, glad you got it fixed :P
