    mr2 turbo (jdm) obd diagnostics

    hi, just a quick couple of questions, can i have my carpc linked to my obd socket, and is mine is not actually an obd socket as ive been told it is a tccs socket, and cant seem to find any cables/interfaces for this. ps my car is 1990 jdm so is my connection some form of obd1? thank. lewis.

    There is no computer interface for that car. To get the diagnostic codes out, you short 2 pins in the connector, then watch the Engine light flash. It cannot be driven in the "code readout" mode as it reverts the car to base timing. There is no digital information available in the diagnostic connector, analog only. You could certainly build analog input circuitry and software to bring some data into your computer, but it would be a lot of work.
