Which is the best scan tool for Infiniti G35?

I’m looking for the best (at a reasonable price) scan tool, or something laptop friendly, to detect parameters or codes (OBDII).

I’m better inclined to the laptop use.... like AUTO TAP!

    Any suggestions?

I guess it depends on what you want to do if you just want the basic OBD II parameters than the OBDPro will do the job, plus now it offers free upgrades over the web via remote reflash.

If you want to read enhanced Nissan specific parameters yes something like AutoTap would be required

    Thanks

    Thx for your reply Michbound!
I’ve been hearing about Auto-Tap; I just want to know, basically, the difference between the OBDpro and Auto Tap!

Can Auto Tap read more sensors? …..!!! Is it worth the extra cost?

By the way, I own a Mustang GT 1997, Acura RL 1999 and the G35 2003…strange combination, I know!!!!! All OBDII systems.

    Hi Robert,

No the Autotap cannot read extra sensors for the Acura or the G35, for the Mustang they do have an add on software that will read certain additional parameters.

Also on a 97 GT not sure how many of the additional parameters would be support.

    For the basic sensors

    A/C System Refrigerant Monitoring Status
    Auxiliary Input Status
    Catalyst Monitoring Status
    Comprehensive Component Monitoring Status
    ECT
    EGR System Monitoring Status
    Engine Load
    Engine Load
    Engine Speed
    EVAP Vent Solenoid Command
    Evaporative System Monitoring Status
    Fuel Pressure
    Fuel System Monitoring Status
    Fuel System Status Bank 1
    Heated Catalyst Monitoring Status
    IAT
    Ignition Timing
    LTFT B1
    LTFT B2
    MAF
    MAP
    Misfire Monitoring Status
    O2 Sensor - B1S1
    O2 Sensor - B1S1 (mV)
    O2 Sensor - B1S2
    O2 Sensor - B1S2 (mV)
    O2 Sensor - B1S3
    O2 Sensor - B1S4
    O2 Sensor - B2S1
    O2 Sensor - B2S2
    O2 Sensor - B2S3
    O2 Sensor - B2S4
    OBD Requirements
    Oxygen Sensor Heater Monitoring Status
    Oxygen Sensor Monitoring Status
    Secondary Air System Monitoring Status
    STFT B1
    STFT B2
    Throttle Position
    Vehicle Speed

The OBDPro will provide way better bang for the buck than the Autotap, but then if you need the additonal parameters for the Mustang and there is a long list here http://www.autotap.com/enhanced_parameters_ford.asp
Then you will need to get the autotap or purchase the add on module from PCMScan that will allow the OBDPro to read the additional Ford parameters.

One additional thing... with the OBDPro you can use software from a wide variety of developers such as the OBD2007, OBDDiag, PCMSCan, Dashcommand, Scanmaster etc whereas with the Autotap you are locked into their own version of the software this might be an additional factor in your evaluation

    Thanks
