for instance, i would like to do a 100% digital dash, but does obd send out info besides rpm and such?
like maybe change oil, or low traction, or turn signals?

I like the parts which say "Vehicle manufactures are not required to support all modes" and "Again, not all vehicles will support all PIDs..."
basically its pot luck what is output on your specific OBD2 port...
That is true to a certain extent, in most newer vehicles though you will find that the mode 1 pids such as
RPM, Coolant Temp, Vehicle Speed, Calculated engine load are generally supported, besides these which ones do you think you might want on a digital dash? - Fuel economy you can usually derive from the supported pids.

well it seems im giong to have to probe around with a multi meter in my instrtument panel to sign the signal wires then,
just for common stuff like change oil, low washer fluid, my turn signals, just stuff like that
