OBD, CAN Bus, ISO 15765-2 and ISO 14229-1

    Hi,

I've been looking on the internet for information regarding ISO 15765-2 and ISO 14229-1. There is nothing available, it looks lik the only way to get the information is to buy the specs from ISO... Which I'm fine with once my project is more advanced, though at this point I am not commited to spend that much money on paper products.

Would one of you be able to give me some information regarding ISO 15765-2 and ISO 14229-1? Enough information so I can plug my CAN-enabled microcontroller onto the OBD port, decode CAN frames, request and receive data?

Please note I'm not interested in getting a ready to use CAN reader, I'm interested in accessing the CAN bus of a car at a low level with the equipment I am developing.

    Thanks!

Does anyone know how I can request the shifter position (Park, Reverse, Neutral, Drive, Manual) using ISO15765?
It is on a 2006 Cadillac Escalade.

    Tx
