I hear that obdgpslogger is pretty cool for datalogging. :-D No idea about tuning though

Alright, I've about finished my in-car computer finally. I wanted the CarPC for more than just multimedia use. I was wondering what type of options I have as far as OBD-II controls? I am a computer programmer by hobby and just wanted to know how I could go about hooking up to my engine's computer and maybe doing some tuning and datalogging? I can handle the PC end of it but I'm kinda lost as far as actually tapping into the OBD-II port.

OBDGPSLogger, for logging OBDII and/or GPS data
OBDSim, an OBDII/ELM327 software simulator
mp3car forums: obdgpslogger, obdsim
Take a look at what MP3Car has to offer in terms of hardware:

If you plan to write your own software to communicate over OBDII, I would strongly recommend getting OBDLink. It's basically ElmScan 5 on steroids: it's compatible with all the same software, while at the same time it supports additional enhanced commands and is user upgradeable.

Hardware wise I have the OBDPro and would highly recommend it, it offers ELM functionality with upgradable firmware also
From a software standpoint none of the low cost softwares out there offer tuning capability. The palmer performance engineering products provide the ability to view car specific data on Fords & GM but wish there were more economical options on that front
For carputers one of the free option is roadrunner with the OBD & MPG plugins which is what I use
Dashcommand is another option
Given that a great majority of obdiinut's posts include a favorable review or OBDPros, a link to obdpros.com, or an attack on ScanTool.net or myself, I'm starting to suspect that he (she?) is OBDPros' sock puppet.
