    Thumbs up

Excellent, I'd be interested in trying your app with the ODBLink (with BT option)
My G1 is on 1.6 but I always can grab an Eclair Rom from the XDA site and load it on my phone (it's rooted).

Also, there is a backport of the Bluetooth API from 2.0 available to work with the SDK 1.6. I just tried the Google BluetoothChat sample with it and can actually connect to the ODBLink.
This would give you a broader pool for testing.

Man, I'm severely interested on this too.
I have a Moto Droid with 2.0.1 and the Bluetooth ODB-II from dealextreme (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.16921).
My bluetooth dongle uses the microsoft generic drivers.
Any way that I can help, I have a good history with programming, not so great with linux but I can sacrifice my device for this anytime!

Oh, and I can say for sure that it should work, it is an ELM 327 chip in there ( I know that cause I actually looked, lol).
It's been working fine with the Windows software like ScanXL with a lot of PID's so who knows, it may work with yours.

That's awesome, I'll look into that I don't speak legalese, so I'll have to find someone to explain if I can use apache licensed code in a closed source project... but I doubt it so I probably can't use it.

I'd love to give this a whirl... got a Droid and this BT OBD dongle... just curious, does the app display trouble codes at this point?

Not yet, no it does not. I am working on a new version that should work with a wider variety of scan tools, I hope to have it ready by the end of the week. If you PM me your email address I'll shoot the .apk file of to you when it's finished.

I too have a G1 1.6 as well and as soon as I get another car (hopefully next week) I would like to have a shot at this because a Scanguage II is $160 and if more can be had with this app something like what's on Garmin Nuvi GPS units with BT that was shown at CES today

Thanks for the work, I am sure the Android community will love your hard work.

BTW have you seen the Performance Meter for the Android? -
