    OBD 2 Code Reader For JDM vehicles

    Hi Friends,

    My vehicle is toyota TownAce KR42 year 2002. I got Innova CanOBD2 code reader(3110) for my vehicle. when I connected it the display will said no comunication with ECM. my one of friend said Toyota has they owne protocal.Can you please help me to why it is not comunication with my vehicle ECM. Which Code reader is best for Japanes JDM vehicles.

    OBDII is an american standard used for vehicles for sale in the united states. japanese cars don't have to conform to US standards for communications protocols. they may, but they don't have to.

    the code reader you have is generic, which means it will only read the 40 or so P-codes specified by the SAE listed here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Table_o...#Standard_PIDs), if they read any at all (remember about OBD being an american thing)
