Hello all,
I am new to the site and very new to carpc and the OBD11 and computers use(not to computers just computer using OBD11 software).
Alright so the question is, Is there any OBD11 software/Hardware that well allow you to actually tune and make adjustments to the Vehicles Sub computers. It is to my understanding the the OBD11 reader would have to be a 2way(recieving/transmitting) device.
With the last day in research and lots of ebay buying i have still yet to find a reader i like or am sure about any tips on good readers would be great and even software to go with it would be even better.
And if i could be compatible with streetdeck in someway that would be even better.
thanks for any help

Every OBD2 interface is a 2-way device. The PC sends a command and receives an answer from the car. That doesn't mean you can change the software. The law mandates that there are safe-guards against guys like you or me. You need passwords, encryption/decryption and a whole lot more.
Even if you have an interface and software which can flash the software, what are you going to change? Have you got any experience in reverse engineering?
And how do you proof the changes work (more power, less fuel use, etc)? Do you have a rolling road, a gas-analyzer, a knock detection device?
When not, leave tuning to the professionals, before you blow up a couple of turbos or engines.
If you have a Subaru or Mitsubishi you can use OpenPort http://www.tactrix.com/ and get the software from http://OpenECU.org
