Thats always a pain to setup and use these embedded CE units. I'm for sure aware of people, using hobdrive in RoadRover units (check this for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkjfPdAtqVM). So your problem is somehow between your unit's configuration and .net35. You may try to checkout a way to 'manually' install .net (without cab). As far as I know miopocket4 has 3.5 in base and installs it as a part of itself.

I saw that video and I wish I could get it working like that guy :-(
so version 3.5 that miopocket shows, is the one that has been installed by it self? so how to install it manually? should I just copy and paste files inside the cab to the windows folder? doesn't it get deleted when I re-start the unit? because I heard that on the embedded units, hardware installs a fresh copy on the OS on restart.... i though this even would make a problem with my OBD driver and I have to keep installing the driver every single time I turn on the HU.
There is nothing impossible in the world :-)

Hi Cail, how do they manage to overcome the different bluetooth stack on RoadRovers? As you state at the FAQ at your page:
In case your unit natively supports BlueTooth stack (in windows CE control panel you have Bluetooth manager and ELM adapter is visible there), then the only requirement for hobDrive is .net3.5.

However, for example popular RoadRover multimedia units has non standard BlueTooth stack and it can't be used to communicate with hobDrive.
I have managed to install it on a 2din chinese dvd navigator, and I am trying to overcome (if it is possible) the bluetooth conection problem.

    Hi! There two ways exist:
First you plug USB Bluetooth dongle and use BT ELM adapter to connect with.
Second - just use USB ELM adapter, plug it into your unit directly and instal usb-serial port driver (FTDI on most units).

Both of these require usb-host to be available on your unit - and this is true for major part of chinese units (not sure about your particular case).

    BlackyP,

As far as I see most of navigon's including this one are WinCE units. I don't think however they provide a direct way of running third party apps on them.

You should search on how to start third party apps there, run hobd (probably use hobd-standalone package) and then checkout if hobd is able to see your ELM adapter via navigon's bluetooth.
