Hey guys,
Wanted to start off by thanking this site for being around. Lots of threads here helped me get started on my little project to interface an arduino based obd2 reader to my RX8's lcd screen.

I was looking to take this project even further, and map the controls to the steering wheel cruise control buttons. I assume that the buttons are linked to the CANBUS but I have no idea how to figure out exactly where the module is on the bus. My idea is to have
"Cancel" - switch modes if cruise control is off
"Accel" - Previous monitor if cruise control is off
"Decel" - Next monitor if cruise control is off

Hi,
I've just watched your linked, That's great what you are able to do on RX8!!
My thinking about steering wheel buttons is : they do not work in CAN Bus. These buttons are often link directly to the ECM though a LIN bus for cost and safety reason.
If the cruise control buttons actually work the cruise control on your car, then stay well away.
If however you have retrofitted a MF steering wheel to a car which doesn't have cruise control ( that'll be me then), then got for trying to get those buttons to do something useful.
