Running j2534 cardaq 2004 with j2534-1 bus analyzer tool

Is anyone running a 2004 J2534 with the Bus Analysis Tool from Drew Technologies? I am trying to get ours to work, but experiencing DLL errors.

    Thanks,

Yes, it works fine. If in doubt email or call their technical support. That's what it's there for.

If you're getting errors you may have some problem with your driver installation. The tech support can help you work that out.

I have spoke with the technical support, they no longer support that device, it's been end of lifed. I think it's a driver issue, but that don't have the drivers available for the old J2534 any longer.

Oh, and I have been using technical support for 32 years as a network technician.

Anyone have the orginal J2534 drivers, without the virus that seems to have been a big deal back in it's day.

    Thanks,

Yes the text on the download page could be clearer, but the process is described in the manual. The link is a self-extracting executable that unpacks the software. As it says: 1) run j2534install.exe to get the *.dll installed on your PC then 2) run cardaq_setup.exe to program the box with the matching firmware version.

On that product the device firmware needed to match the *.dll version, and the most common problem is if you install a new *.dll but fail to update to the matching firmware. The one you have is quite old (12+ years) and back then it was a manual process. Newer products ship with better software and handle that stuff automatically.
