I got mine from www.scantools.net they shipped within the US in 2 days, there are many other places that sell them, some where listed in this thread. mine cost 80.00 USD

Make sure that you get the correct type for your make of auto. Mine was ISO.

    Hope this helps

I doubt you'll find many car shops that sell the cables for hooking OBD II up to a serial port, you'll probably just find stand alone units. The cables are completely legal, in fact federal law specifies that car manufacturers must give you a way to access the OBD II codes, how specifically you do it is up to you.

Have you looked into interfacing with the CAN bus instead of using the consult protocol? I'll have to check the shop manual but I think the two wires for the engine CAN are available on the diagnostics port. Maybe the advantage of using consult2 is better presentation of the data?

I just did some looking in the shop manual and the CAN-H is pin 6 and CAN-L is pin 14 in the diagnostics port. According the the wiring diagram the ECM, body control module, AC, ABS and others are all on the same bus. Looks like it's time to get a CAN adapter and do some snooping. Anyone here have any experience with CAN interfaces?

My 2000 UK spec Nissan 200SX S14a doesn't seem to have an OBDII port. It does have a Consult Port in the fuse box but the connector is nothing like the cable that came with my ISO Scantool.

HEEELLLLLPPPPP! HOW DO I CONNECT MY SCANTOOL? Arrrgggggg!!!
