Thanks, jsut came back from lunch and did find it. It was to the left and up of where the mini keyboard is. :-) thanks for the help. Wish I waited 20 min to go to lunch, I'd have saved myself the grease from grabbing a steering line.

You have the same car and keyboard as me. I see you mounted something int he eye glass case. I'm wondering if I can mount my retractable LCD in there.

Did you ripout the stock 6CD changer?

Almost the same car, actually a Chrysler sebring coupe, basically a bigger eclipse with different sheet metal but everything else is 100% the same.

That pic is old. The radio on the chrylser's is a bit different than the eclipse (though it's still an infinity), for instance we have a 1.5 din and you have a 2 din stereo. What I ended up doing is moving the Sirius in the cubby into the compass pod and got a double din eclipse center console and mounted a touch screen in there. Still need to clean things up and redo the temp controls and move them somewhere else (right now, they are pushed behind the lcd).

For the mouse, I hacked up a thumb mouse and the autostick shifter.

The Chrylser/Dodge versions don't have a radio display up there, just temperature and direction. Kind of useless.

Nice job on autoshifter hack. I want to rip out the 2DIN stereo and throw in an alpine unit (1 DIN) and retractable LCD (1DIN). I hope I don't damage my compass in the process. I wonder if I can send stuff to it using simple serial commands...

Do you have pictures of the power conenctors/insides of when you removed your front panel? I may be doing it next weekend and want to be ready for what I see.

Which connectors are you interested in? Our stereos will be different btw.

Are you ever on club3g? Everything 3g eclipse. They also have somewhere a link to the complete service manual.

This link will probably have everything you need. A howto on removing the dash and everything remotely near it. Tons of pics, great directions.

The connectos I care about are power (wouldn't it be nice to reuse the same conenctor) and output to the 6 speakers. I am not even goign to try or hope to interface to the stock LCD, not right now anyway.

That's the place for anything you want to know. There's another forum (neweclipse.org?) but it isn't that good. Basically the remnants of what became 3g. There was a split for some reason.

If I remember correctly, the eclipse uses a din cable that goes off to the amp under the seat, which feeds the speakers. (Not sure if the 2.4 liter models have the same set up). I remember as someone here quite awhile ago was selling the adapter for it. I thought it would work on my car but it wouldn't as the stereo is one of the few differences.

Ah, yeah, totally different from mine. Though you should be able to get whatever answers you need there.
