    Not so fast ...

Different cars have different formats for OBD-II. See the link at http://www.scantool.net/faq/general_...which_protocol to determine which format your two cars use. I was lucky ... the ISO format is used for my Jeep and my Volvo.

Suggest you also look at www.obd-2.com for another alternative. That is what I got, and it works GREAT. There is a group buy on this package going on right now at www.swedespeed.com (community forums) for much cheaper than the normal price. Link is here http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=18097 and prices are good until 15 March. I'm not affiliated with anyone running group buy ... I paid full price for mine

    Hope this helps.

    Dave

This is not an issue with OBDDiagnostics, thier single interface supports VPW(GM), PWM(Ford), ISO9141(Chrysler, Asian, European) & ISO 14230. And the software is FREE. Although it may not be as full-featured as OBD-2, the gauges look better . Without a group buy it is just less $$$. That group buy for OBD-2 is pretty sweeet for people that want a more serious dedicated OBD-II reader for about the same money!

well i did about 120-140 dollars of diagnostic work today in like 10 min

( the dealer charges 70 bucks to read a code and the indy shop 60 )

    i bought the BR-3 for 88 bucks

i did my passat got some error codes of it and i did my jetta got 2 codes off that one( having engine problems)

there were some intresting options for the carputer but nothing really other than monitoring and possibly trouble shooting

but all in all im very happy with the product

i wish the software had some sort of direct port into Excel or something liek that but im sure i can figure something out.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2463683230

and why is this one by the same person $10 more?

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2463683370

These are all buy it nows with multiple quantities.

EDIT: Never mind it looks like you can't connect to a pc or laptop with these.
