    Rename this fourm

    ODB-II?

    Is that a good name for this thread? Should it be something like engine management?

    I don't want to limit it just to ODB-II when we have other interfaces out there.

    What’s a better name?

    How about just plain On Board Diagnostics (no II, spelled out)?

    Don't limit your thinking to Engine Control Interface, don't forget, the majority of the vehicle's controllers (transmission / body / airbag / security / etc) are also accesible via the diagnostic buss connection. And it's not limited to just diagnostics. The connection also supports command and control functions too.
