Searched through the whole forum could not find what i was looking for.
anyone know a method i can read info off the car?
i read almost every post on ODB but i cant seem to find what i am looking for.
my car shouldnt be that hard because clicking "buttons" on the car gives me info such as outside temperature, oil temp, total minutes car on, and so on.
any help would be appreciate it.
has anyone actually went into their car dealer and asked them about this?
I am thinking of actually going in and asking the mechanics of passats,

If im not mistaken you have a MFA switch in the wipers stalk...MFA is build into the gauge cluster which calculates mpg, time, gives outside temp, etc. It doesnt have anything to do with OBD,my car shouldnt be that hard because clicking "buttons" on the car gives me info such as outside temperature, oil temp, total minutes car on, and so on.
btw check your OBD connectors- they are (should be) hidden somewhere behind the heater controls/cig.lighter....its either 2 plugs with 2pins or new OBD2 plug.
is your method requires use of vag-com or other $$ devices?Originally Posted by CTdubbin
