Nope, you can only use OBD II for diagnostics and a few performance measurement things listed here: http://www.obddiagnostics.com/obdinfo/pids1-2.html

The ONLY command that OBD II lets you send to the car to change things is the reset check engine light everything else is read only.

exactly ! nah my dad was wondering about the odomteter, and i wanted to get the max speed tested on my ford explorer with out a governor.. but i have to watch out ! my explorer might "flip over"

something that limits the max RPMs and the max speed that your vehicle can reach before the goverenor kicks in and stops you from accelerating. If i knew anything about engines/automotives im sure it wouldnt be hard to remove, which reminds me, i have several mechanic family members how im sure would be glad to assit me in removing this demeaning piece of hardware.

nah lol, they come stock on quite a few vehicles to keep them road legal? anyways you'll probaly never even know its on if its on. I just got curious one day after i found out my truck was a 5 speed automatic, the governor kicked in around 115-120 mph. just in case anyone doesnt believ me it was on I75, and plenty possible to go that fast
now im looking into just having my vehicle dyno? tested to see the max speed horses torque n what not. Its eh. more legal
