Hugh?
What are you trying to do?
Instead of buying a new ODB-2 cable, can I simply reuse my autotap cable for custom communication with my car?
Or did autotap intentionally cripple it somehow?
Hugh?
What are you trying to do?
I have an autotap unit for my car. Can I re-use that cable that came with my AutoTap?
I'm trying to write my own custom program to read ODB-2, but I don't want to have to buy a cable if I can simply re-use the AutoTap's cable.
download another OBD app and try it out, if it works chances are the cable is "not proprietary"

FS = MTSVO motorised in dash screen pm me for details
great idea ... that would be the quickest way to verify that it'll work for my needs.
Well, it didn't seem to work...
I tried using this application:
http://www.obddiagnostics.com/ProgWin.html
I used a debug tool to sniff the traffic...
TX: 20
RX: 01 02 FF 05 00 07
what does this mean? what response was the code looking for?
sure enough, i found the technical manual for this device & i'll use that to communicate for now.
Feel free to share your findings. I'm sure there are other autotap owners that might be interested. Myself included![]()
