I think that buying the 2 parts seperately would be cheaper, I've found a BT to Serial adapter for as little as $99, and that Kanda one is now $109, then a cheap scantool for another $113, would be cheaper than the 140GBP, or 250USD

Thanks for the reply. At the time of my original post, even http://www.vitalengineering.co.uk was down. It has since come back online but the Orders Link (http://www.vitalengineering.co.uk/orders.htm) is broken; I have sent several emails with no response.

Does anyone know of another source for the Car-Pal?

Vital Engineering is in business and always has been. Both our websites together with online ordering facility are working as normal. Our customer support very responsive and I find it very difficult to believe that we have turn down repeated sales enquiry. Digital Mike is probably not your real name – so I can’t look in to this. The BT Elm327 is currently bundled with a bluetooth dongle at US$199 only.
