If it is sold in the US it will be somewhere near the steering wheel under the dashboard. Look for a parallelogram appearing connector that is about 2 or 2 1/2 inches wide and 1/2 inch tall.

I'm not sure, I had an older volvo (850) and I believe it was under a change tray.
SwedeSpeed or Volvospeed may be able to help you out. Turbobricks is good, but they focus on the older RWD turbo volvo's.
Found It!!!!!
On the UK model, its on the drivers side on the side of the centre column.
cheers for the help!

hi mate, iam getting a brand new volvo s40 in a few days and iam gonna get a ready made carpc and a screen, might get a DIN flip put screen but could you help me with this, like taking pictures of how or where u trailed ur wires and which OBD system adapeter you brought and the program ur using on ur pc to view it all cheerz, Oh yh i heard alot about this fibre optic system in the car for the audio system i know u cant unplug the a/c screen or the car is dead but how did u connect your carpc to ur speakers and did u get a seperate amplifier ? needs loads of help with audio to scared to rip my brand new car apart n mess it up so that would be really helpful mate
thanks
I had to build a CARPC setup into an 09 Mercedes GL450 with a MOST network. I used an aftermarket amplifier and ran the speaker wires to the stock amplifier location and tapped into the car's speakers there. When I removed the head unit I did not lose any AC functionality b/c the two are separate systems so i don't know what to tell you to do about that.
