Anyone?? reallly wanting to know if I can just hook up an interface and it'll work??
Can the s/ware be programmed to a specific interface?? I can't see how??
pretty please???????????????
Heya ppl..
Been googling around to find out what hardware/ POCKET PC software will work on my AU delivered Ford to give me a useable scantool..
Here's what i know:
Runs Can-bus
has pins 4,5,6,14 and 16
I have the AutoEnguinity speedtester software, and wanted to use a T16-008 multiplex interface to connect it up. ->BUT multiplex say it won't work with commercial software packages.. Why is this??
I have looked at the package available to AU, but it's a Palm version..
link is -> HERE and has no performance based software..
I am thinking of running two programs to get the data I need.. I just need a freeware PPC based package that runs CAN-bus..
Here's my girl anyway:
FPV Tornado, Straight 6 with a GT35/40 Garret turbo. factory 360HP, now with ( SCT ) flash tuner, running ~440HP, soon to be 510HP with injectors and retune.....

I can get a pcb made up, as for writing software, i'll throw my hands in the air at that one!!
Can anyone help?????????
Cheers..

One of the down sides of using proprietary hardware (as is the case with AutoEnginuity.com) is that you are limited to the software you can use with the hardware. AutoEnginuity does in fact use Multiplex hardware, and it is keyed to their software ~ meaning the hardware is useless unless you are using software from AutoEnginuity. AutoEnginuity would never give you the information you would need to write your own software with their hardware ~ you could undermine their user base that way.
Although the ELM chip (www.scantool.net) is not as powerful, it is much more widely supported and open for public use.

i think what he means by AU is australia.
Yeah, I realized after I posted last night you were looking for CAN support ~ you will not find this with the ELM (yet) ~ but I heard they are working on one.

Thanks. I was aware of the elm, and the fact it won't do CAN..
I'll keep an eye out for the CAN chip..

Just an update for those using the 'Search' button looking for info...
AutoEnginuity works with Aus delivered BA Falcon, although some sensors don't gather data when they are both selected. eg, when rpm, timing advance and calculated load % are selected, timing and load % don't 'work'. When selected individually, they work??
I also can't run Vehicle speed with rpm and timing, or rpm + load % + O2 sensor voltages.. etc etc etc...
Software issue? My car isn't in the list of pre-selected vehicles, so runs 'Generic OBDII'.
* Update *
Car doesn't support Fast Mode, and once unchecked, logs all sensors.
