    Nissan Navara - Frontier ODB / ODB-II

    Hi All,

Does anyone know or currently have a working ODB solution for either a Nissan Navara (uk version of the Frontier) or Nissan Frontier this is a Diesel opposed to Petrol . ?

I cannot seem to confirm if this will work or not .. its a 2003 model Navara 2.5 turbo Dielsel.

    Thanks
    Craig

yeah yeah - i know this is an old thread

it turns out in europe - your vehicle can be exempt of having obdII if it fits a certain classification. Our Navara's probably don't have obdII as they weigh more than 2 1/2 ton.

United States legislation requires all cars and light trucks model year (MY) 1996 and newer to be OBD-II compliant. More information is available on the EPA's website.

If it's MY2006 or newer, you can use ElmScan 5:

If it's older, it may or may not be OBD-2 compliant. Unfortunately, there is no sure way to tell for sure (although your dealer will swear it is OBD-2 compliant).

You can buy other ELM327-compatible interfaces for less, but your software upgrade path will be limited/more costly.

It's got to be OBD2/AOBD(?) compliant, then.

Vehicles made in Japan for Japan and other far eastern markets not required to be OBD II (JOBD) compliant until Oct. 2008.
