Hi, I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 Hemi 5.7L (gas engine) that has an intermittent problem with stalling out. Unfortunately my truck is not storing any (useful) codes so the dealer can't isolate the problem. My plan is to hook up an ODB2 and log it's output to a computer. Hopefully once the problem re-occurs I will have some data to show the dealer. I want to be able to replay the logged sensor data back for the dealer - like the gauge view to show them what my truck is doing. I would like to have at least the O2, RPM, intake temperature, fuel pressure, intake manifold pressure, air flow pressure, and temp logged and replay-able.

The truck has a type A DLC connector (no notch in the alignment slot), and has the following pins:
    2,4,5,7,9,12,15 and 16

I have a few questions about your product:

    1. Which sensor and software do I need to use to gather the most info from my truck?
    2. Do you know what protocol it would need to use? (I see that 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 is ISO)
    3. Do you see any problems with my plan technically?
    4. Is the 10% code still valid?

    Thanks for your time.

Just to make you guys feel good, I have had a Digimoto ELM scantool system for about a year and a half. I have been using it hooked up to my HP laptop and it works great. I have recently started trying to use the Pocket PC version(1.0, 2.0 coming) on my IPAQ PDA. Still working on it. I just downloaded Joels newest version 4.02(laptop) and its really inetresting. I have surfed all over and price wise and support wise I personally have had no problem with Joel responding. ELM just released that "mobydick" chip(ELM 327 chip) and Joel's already is on it and working with it. That's fast. I been happy and recommend it.

I am going to make it a priority to contact some of the developers of some of the tools you guys are already using and see if we can work out a plug and play system... instead of requiring a whole new application. This is something that I have wanted to do for some time and will make it a priority ~ but it may take a couple months.
