    CarChip review on RainyDayMagazine

This data logger was pretty simple to set up and use. We did a FirstLook and FirstUse report on it this week.

Since it only tracks 4 out of 23 possible parameters at any given session, it'll take us a few weeks to get the data for all 23 possible sets. We'll post the results for those interested as updates to the links above.

How would that help...only got one ODB socket on the car :-)

We would still only be able to attach them one at a time...

    Post CarChip EX

I have one of the serial versions of the EX model. It does a great job of capturing lots of data that might be considered useful: records start and stop time of every trip, highest speed traveled, hard accelerations and braking, etc. It is ideal for monitoring long term performance or driving habits and it only takes seconds to install in any car with ODBII.

There are both serial and USB versions out there. The USB version is newer and a little more expensive but it can also monitor cars with CAN Bus variation of the ODBII. I paid under $100 for the serial version off ebay about six months ago and I am happy with what it does. If you have one or get one, be sure to get the latest software (free download) from the manufacturer's web site:
