For G35, 350Z, Titan, and Altima SE-R you might like to check out Cipher GB or http://www.uprev.com

conzult is free along with many others. You just need a consult to laptop cable and you are set. PLMS and a few others make one. There are instructions all over on how to make your own.

Here are some great sources of info for various Nissans. Not sure if your car is OBD I or II since nissan sold both during the 1997. (at least in North America)

    Data Scan

    Biki Rom

    300 Degree

    PLMS Developments

    CalumSult

    OBD Scan Tech

    Nissan Club

    Daughterboard Writeup

This should get you started. Ive found through looking around that about $100 to $130 is the average for the hardware and software combos.

Calum is a good friend of mine, he has posted up all the info you need to make a PC cable/Consult port scanner. I recommend that for sure.

PLMS would be my second choice as it is simple, they did all the work!

they didnt do "all" the work. initial breakthrough was made by a japanese guy. sure they host and update the documents and that, but dont blindly believe they did 100% of the work (i dont think they would even try and say it was all theirs)

they do however put a lot of their time into helping people out, so id still echo what you've said.

Hey you guys think there would be a way to make like a standalone display for just these gauges? It would be cool to have consult gauges on a lcd instead of my ugly gauge cluster..

for your normal in car lcd: youre looking for a "hks camp" which is no longer being produced. maybe find one on japan yahoo auctions

or an alternative, on a character lcd: http://www.ecutalk.com/consultlcd.aspx
