Hi there i'm just new and have been looking at OBD protocols etc as would love to have that info to hand, and if i could get it to hand then i would build in a carputer, for games, dvd and gps.
Am used to building big systems but not low powered ones, but sure i'll cope.
My main question is - does my car have an OBD2 or OBD port and where is it.
Its an:
X-Reg Nov 2000, FIAT Bravo HGT 155
Have trawled the web for this info and noone can tell me for sure, have looked under the bonnet, glovebos and steering wheel and more conectors than you could stake a large stick at.
Am hoping that the experts here will be able to help, as my new Dremel's just itching for its first big outing!![]()
Also as prob guessed am in the UK, Glasgow area in Scotland.
Thanks

sorry i thought the 'newbie' forum would be the best place for my first post.![]()
no problems.
Your first post was geared more towards a specific sub forum here, not so much of a 'how do I put a pc in my car?' question.
Welcome btw!

Anyone know, essentially the Bravo, Brava and Marea are all the same car. Merea is listed as OBD2 at: http://www.obdtools.co.uk/isolist.htm#fiat
But how can i be sure mine will before i shell out the cash and how can i find where in the car it is, as alot of electrics in FIAT's.
Thanks

I'd recomend finding a forum dedicated to your car. Post there and see what people are using and where the port is located.
You're more likely to have an answer quicker there. Then come back here and give us all of your valuable information!![]()

Hi yea am a member of fiatboo a Bravo/Brava owners club, but there is alot of uncertanty as some cars seem to have them and some dont and the position is all over the place.
Would the car manufacturer direct be able to tell me if i emailed them my chassis no? Or do you think i'd be barking up the wrong tree?

I don't know anything about this specific car, but there are requirements for the location of OBD connectors. They're supposed to be in the passenger compartment, accessible without special tools, etc. Generally, they will be under the dash in the vicinity of the steering wheel and visible to someone who crouches down and looks under there since its intended to be easily accessible for emissions testing purposes. I believe its supposed to be accessible from the driver's seat so that limits where you have to look. It may have a cover, but won't have anything else plugged into it like most of the other connectors. I don't have a link to pictures, and I'm not sure how many kinds there are, but there aren't very many types (one or two?).
Cool i'd had a look before lying on my back with my head in the footwell, but didnt have my digital camera that day. Will pop my head under again with the camera this time and take some snaps of anything i think might be it.
