    Hi Spyder,

    Yes we are in full production mode now. Have not given much thought to making a Bluetooth version as people seem to have all sorts of problems with bluetooth, but we are looking at moving away from AT commands and finally releasing a binary version.

    One of the free programs that ships with the tool can be embedded in RR. See this thread

    Extra staright cable is $ 7.50 / cable, just mention in your comment that you need an extra cable and will set you up with one...

    @michbound - - Hope this helps with Subaru Support - got this info from open ecu forums and enginuity etc.

    The subaru select monitor protocol uses an ISO9141 interface and uses UART settings: 4800 bps n, 8, 1 all data is sent and recieved using small packets that all share a common header.



    packets all follow this structure:

    0x80
    Destination byte
    Source byte
    Data Size byte
    data...
    ...
    Checksum byte

    known Source and Destination bytes:
    0x10 Subaru ECU
    0xf0 Diagnostic tool

    the Data Size byte specifies the number of data bytes in the packet the Checksum byte is the 8 least significant bits of the sum of every packet byte (including the header)

    for example:

    Thanks for the detailed info, looks like just changing the baud rate on the ISO protocol should allow experimenting with the SSM protocol, I will work on adding that capability.

    Has there been any progress on SSM support? I'm really looking for the faster speeds of the SSM protocol over that of the standard ISO in the Subaru's and would love to continue to use the OBDPro's interface. Is the purchase of an updated PIC an option down the track to update it or are we able to update the firmware via usb?

    If obdpro supports the CAN protocol you can use that to read/log using the SSM addresses.

    CAN Baud rate on the OBDII connector is 500kb

    I'm using the A8 service over CAN on my 09STI and it's fast. I log 20-30 parameters 4 times per second (including the broadcast CAN decoding).     The empty gauge in the first picture is the gear indicator (not shown when the car is not running).

    It is a custom Centrefuse plugin which means it is essentially a Windows panel.

    It's not ready to go yet. Still running on a laptop and I have to decide hardware and then deal with any hibernation/power issues. Unfortunately cost is getting in the way of building the hardware so it's going slow.
