Well, that's really big step towards OBDII diags in carputers. I would suggest that you place the code and schematics at sourceforge.net, there's big chance that it gets developed for few platforms.
I have completely open sourced and OBDII scanner. Well actually there are two versions which are open sourced. One is done using a PIC processor and one with an AVR processor.
The software is there for anyone to use and modify. You can purchase the hardware from my website, or email if you just want a PCB.
For some more details. The scanner is designed such that it can operate with a PC or stand alone as hand held device. I originally made device for a friend of mine who wanted a quick way of seeing if a car would pass emissions test. Latter I changed the design from a PIC processor to the AVR and added a USB port instead of the serial. However I figure some people might prefer the PIC so I open sourced them both.
Again you can obtain all the code and schematics from my website, http://ww.sterntech.com
Of course if you have any questions feel free to email me.

The code is up on google's code, I chose Google over source forge as that source forge interface was not as nice.
