Looking for a better software to work with OBDPro

received my OBDPro today! Installed and hooked it up without any issues. Worked just fine.

But the packaged software (scantool.net) is not doing enough for me.
Without data logging capabilities its of not much use to me. Built-in graphical display ability would be even better.
So any freeware out there that has these abilities and will work with OBDPro ?

As for non-freeware, Digimoto seems to be the most cost-effective ($38 minus mp3car discount ?) software but I don't know if it will work for sure with obdpro or not.
Dont know if there are others worth considering at that price point.

It will work, I had Paul test out the product recently. Actually, he tested the Digimoto 5.0 beta, but you will get a 4.03 key and a 5.0 key with your order.

We are going to be releasing a free version of our 5.0 software (similar to our Digimoto Lite), if you are not in any hurry and desire to save a little money for christmas .

Yep, the 5.0 software works great with the OBDPro, has some neat features such as auto port detect and cool looking gauges, I am still exploring all the features in the software.

Are you developing this for a windows platform? Is there somewhere I can read about your project? I'd be willing to help beta test it.

Right now we are having a closed beta (customers only), but we will move into an open beta in another week or so. So far our projects have all been developed for the Windows based operating systems.

Joel, I look forward to the open beta.
However, can you tell me if that beta and the current "digimoto lite" limits the number of sensors it can read ? For example, I am trying out the current digimoto lite with obdpro and it won't read Ignition Timing Advance and Manifold Pressure on '01 MDX and '99 Accord. Other softwares I tried read them just fine.

Also, later today I will post another thread seperately for a general question on refresh rates, but as compared to obdpro does the myobdic 2600 have any advantage in terms of refresh rate or is it pretty much same ?

The older version of Digimoto 4.03 + Digimoto Lite reads around 25 sensors, the new 5.0 reads over 90 sensors, I am not sure if we will open up our freeware to read all 90 sensors (the limitations have not been determined).

The mOByDic hardware is much faster then the ELM interface, especially when comparing readings from a CAN supported vehicle. I am not sure how our interfaces compares to the OBDPro, I would imagine Paul's interface is faster then the ELM based interfaces.

This flash recording was taken on our first release of the beta, the software looks a bit different now (slightly), but it will give you an idea of sensors available.

that's fine. What I was trying to find out was whether it is locked out on purpose or something was not working correctly ?

No, there is no limitation in Digimoto Lite that should be locking out those sensor readings on the main form. There is no difference between Lite and 4.03 so if you are having a problem with Lite, I am sure you would have the same issue with 4.03, and this seems to be a software problem to me if Digimoto was unsuccessful and other software applications were successful. You can jump on our forums and make a post and we'll try to work these issues out for you. In a week we will have a 5.0 freeware version available and I would be interested to know your results.

Can't wait for the 5.0 freeware. It will help me determine weather or not to spring for the full version.
