Sorry agunjal I reject the basic premise of your post. It isn't interesting.
Hope someone can help me here. I bought my 01 - S430 last month. No check engine light but some hesitation. So I purchased a OBD II reader. I read and got some codes. Misfires, Air Mass error. No problem. Figured a tune up and new MAF would be ok. So last night my check engine light comes on. So today I decide to read to codes again. I keep getting errors. It wont read. So I try the reader on my wifes Nissan..No problem...reads everything. So why wont the OBD tool read my Benz? Is there a fuse? Any ideas?
Any help would be appreciated

Serious error.
All shortcuts have disappeared.
Screen. Mind. Both are blank.
It is important to make sure that the OBD2 plug is fully located in the socket - there are two longer pins which pick up the power, and often give the impression that the tool is fully located when it isn't.
Checking this is certainly worth a try before looking at the more complicated explanations.
Good Luck!
