I'm debating installing a car PC in my Chevy Blazer and one of my primary concerns is damage resulting from my stereo, in particular the bass frequencies. I have broken various parts of my car's interior already (mirror, trim panels, lights, console latches) so I'm worried a motherboard might be damaged. I was planning on using an SSD hard drive.
Is this a valid concern firstly? And second are there ways to manage or deal with this?
turn it down a bit?

if the board is mounted with some 'shock absorbing' mounts, that should give it ample protection... unless you want to fork out for an industrial-type PC.. $$$$$$$
I use to run a system from http://mo-co-so.com/ there built well and they can withstand the punishment. I had an insanely loud system in my 04 Durango before it was totaled by a stupid stop sign runner. The base was low and hit hard and the only thing it couldn't withstand was said stop sign runner. Hope this helps with your decision.
most motherboards are built better than the Chevy Blazer, I would do a isolator setup on the board mount and call it good.

I think that mounting your HDD securely to a component that is not going to vibrated to death by the bass is necessary, but the expense of an SSD is not.Quote:

well....i'm talking about many many decibels. I needed an SDD...maybe he wont, but as he asked about low frequencies, i'm just sayin', this CAN be a problem. it was for me. and your right. well does mean well....not half assed..... don't let them slide out, or wiggle, unless you want problems.
