hmm... 106F ambient, what was it where you were storing your computer (ambient)?

106F is only 41.11C. While active, your pic shows it was 161F (71.6C), which is something you may be concerned with, depending on your maximum acceptable tolerance for your equipment.

I know with my setup, I'm good to go in ambient temperatures of up to 60C, and much much higher for the CPU itself... and I've seen ambient temps go up to 57C before, here in Florida. I make the distinction between ambient and operational because as long as the ambient is below 60C, the built-in cooling is adequate according to the specs. As long as I can circulate 60C or lower air around, all is well. Given the total air volume in that space goes all over the car, there's actually plenty of air to circulate in there.

In my case, I stuff my PC between the inner and outer frame of the vehicle, in the trunk, so there's absolutely no air circulation available there, nor is there any air conditioning. Been fine all summer with that setup .

what PSU are you using that allows your computer to boot at a temp that high? at 72°C my DSATX wouldnt allow the computer to even start.

I'm using an M4ATX PSU... but I've never recorded an ambient temperature anywhere near 72C. As I said, the highest ambient I've seen was 57C.

I have the PC under the passenger seat. It's in a modded Mocoso case (w/ 2 fans at one end, right side pushes air in, left side pushes out.)

Didn't know FL can get hotter than TX that you can get a much higher ambient temp.

Yeah, in my case, you have the sun beating down on the frame of the car, and the PC is only an inch or two from that spot. In your case, you're fairly well protected from the sun heating your equipment (unless you have a black cabin, in which case I'd imagine that your cabin actually maintains a very high ambient temperature before your air conditioning starts). The sun makes a huge difference.

Huh...I have heat issues here in FL with my HP Slimline PC. Works great in the morning but once my trunk gets hit with the sun all day I can't even get past the windows startup screen before my rig shuts down. I'm currently working on some ideas with a car audio installer to circulate fresh air from the outside while the car is parked. The fans will be powered by a solar panel. I've been thinking I need to re-seat my cpu with better Thermal paste before I cut my trunk up. Who knows? Take care
