Hi,

Now I succeeded to build a pc, which is also a 4 way active crossover. I use M-Audio firewire 410 as soundcard and I'm verry happy about it except, it doesn't support hibernation! If I manually disable it, then hibernate, everything works fine! I also found a program called hibernate trigger, which is used to open any program when hibernating or coming out of hibernate. All I need is a program or a script, which will disable soundcard, when executed. Also a program or a script, which will enable soundcard when executed. (A single script which enables if disabled, disables if enabled would work also!!) I use win7 and could'nt find much about this. Would anybody can help me? And I can say that I know nothing about programming and etc.

Hi everybody
I'm using a viliv s5 for in car nav and mp3 playback, but am struggling to find a decent interface, big buttons and menu's I really like the centrafuse interface but find it a bit resource hungry for my little atom and 1GB of ram, I have been using it on the trial version but really just want it for the music playback all the other features are great but I have no use for them. so considering that it struggles a bit and I only want to play mp3 the price seams a bit too much.

I have tried wmp, wmc, itunes, winamp vlc, kmp, and all the others I could find with various skins; and find them all a bit lacking.

ok the question bit: Is there anything out there that is comparable to the way cf handles music playback but is not tied to all the other great features that I don't need.

FrontEnd Benchmarks (Load times and Indexing speed)

_Load Times:_
Ok as discussed in another thread there seemed to be some disagreement about various front end load times and one of the biggest...

Load Times:
Ok as discussed in another thread there seemed to be some disagreement about various front end load times and one of the biggest problems was that different hardware was used. So to help out I have benchmarked load times of the various windows front ends on exactly the same setup.

The test rig:
Windows 7
Dell Inspiron 1520
500GB 7200rpm hard drive
t7500 2.2Ghz Core2Duo
2.0GB Ram

The Test:
Each front end was installed cleanly with no extra plugins...was configured and then started and run 3 times to ensure all the initial config was complete. All other processes on the system were stopped and the program was started by a custom test app. When the UI was visible and complete (Ride runner took an extra second to load button captions) I pressed F10 and the timer would stop. Each of the three runs was listed along with their average.

The Results: (All times in seconds)

Now obviously with different hardware the results will vary but I would imagine the spread would be the same on most setups.

Media Index Speeds:
The next item that was highly debated was media index speeds. This was a test to see how long it would take to index your media collection.

The test rig:
-Same as above-

The Test:
Each Software was cleanly installed ensuring it started with a brand new database. It was then directed to index a collection of 500 mp3s and the amount of time from start to finish was recorded. For two of the applications, the speeds were pretty quick so the applications were traced while running to ensure measured times were accurate. Each application was then directed to empty its database and the test was repeated another two times. As a final test each front end was told to index 10 corrupt files in an attempt to crash them. All the front ends successfully skipped the corrupted files without a problem.

The Results:

Analysis:
For two of the front ends the first run was significantly longer then the second two. This is believed to be due to overhead from database creation and expansion. File indexing and pre-fetching may have also helped decrease times for the second and third runs.

The software behind the indexing:
FE Tag Reader Database
StreetDeck Windows Media Player Windows Media Player Database
Centrafuse Bass.Net Jet DB
RoadRunnerMM MediaInfo SQLite (external exe)
RevFE MediaInfo SQLite (dll)
OpenMobile Optimized TagLib-Sharp SQLite (managed code)

The system I'm planing to use is an Intel based MB with an Atom330 and 1Gig Ram,7200rpm HDD, if thats any help.
The main feature as you might have understand is the boot time, other things will be a bonus.
So if anyone that have logged their boot times on the different front ends could post them here, so I could compare and make an decision.

OK so i recently installed an xm pcr on a computer running centrafuse. now all is well with receiving signal and audio quality... its volume control that's ruining my life. i can control mp3 volume with the arrows on the bottom left but not xm. i had to add sndvol32.exe to the main menu so i can change the line volume. i have changed everything from windows sound settings to centrafuse sound settings and nothing will allow me to control either line and master together or use master for both.
the weird thing is since mp3 and xm both use the same output , one would think that master volume for output would control every thing. sadly it controls every thing except xm. i am burned out on this issue. what am i doing wrong.:yield:

I like making mix CD's for my car (it can only play .wav compiled CDs), but the biggest problem is that some recorded songs are recorded at different levels.

Now, I usually make my CD mixes with Roxio, and I click normalize (set for 90%) - and this helps, but many time there is just a big difference between the song recorded levels.

So, a couple of questions:

1) Is there a better software for making CD mixes then Roxio? If so, what is it?

2) Is there software, that will analyze a song's average recorded level, and then allow you to raise it to a certain level?

3) In raising the volume of a .wav file - does it distort the sound?

I have never written a stand alone windows app. Anyway, I'm trying to figure out how can i communicate with centrafuse. I want to be able to take a command from the com port and it initiate a button press in centrafuse.

For instance. I press a button on my steering wheel and it triggers an event on a small MCU board and sends a command to the computer via a com port. So basically if i have a play button on my steering wheel and press play i want it to tell centrafuse to play.
1. Download the attachment, it contain transparentCursor.cur
2. move it to %:\windows\cursors
3. go to control panel - mouse - pointers - browse - select transparentCursor.cur, press ok
4. you're done.

to get your cursor back, hit "use default"
for those who want to make their own transparent cursor, or any kind of cursor, this is the program that I used:

Hi,

Here's the plot. My House has an automatic gate. My gate is connected to a Network IO board that allows me to open the gate using the lan. The lan board is a simple interface that has 16 switches on it. Switch 1 being the gate. To toggle switch 1 and open the gate, I simply run http://192.168.1.250/switch.php?S01 from any networked pc. I would like to try make it so that when the carputer detects my wireless ssid with a signal strength of less than 20%, it would run a script. This is so that when I drive up to the gate, it will automatically open the gate for me. My house music system and alarm system is also connected to this IO board, so any suggestions would be welcomed too.

I've found AudioMulch just as good (maybe better now!) than using CONSOLE for my DSP setup...
For those of you using AudioMulch, I've made a small .bat file that I put in Windows Startup folder to automatically launch AudioMulch WITH my preconfigured DSP layout, and to automatically 'enable' the audio...
Here is what it looks like...

"C:\A_Applications\_A_Multimedia\AudioMulch 1.0\Mulch.exe" /a
"C:\A_Applications\_A_Multimedia\Audio Applications\Plugins\4.1_EQ+Delay.amh"

The first line is where the exe is located...the /a is to enable the audio.
The second line is where I have saved the DSP file.

Now, if I have hibernation issues, I can do a full boot, AND not have to fire up AudioMulch and browse/load the amh file...

If I can just make it launch minimized and close the .bat files!!!

Im looking for a program that will basically split my screen in two. Opening two front ends in each window and stretching them to the edges of there halves with no borders or anything. Effectively running two front end applications in full screen, side by side. I will appreciate any information that someone can give me in how reading from differents maps. I will appreciate the map provider & version the idea is to extend the Roadnav usage range to others countries than the USA, using any map available.
Any experience, data or something to help me learn will be appreciate.

I know about Teleatlas, Navteq (these are good in europe and North America). But I have read about Garmin, Mapsource, Movimap, etc.
Any data will be appreciated.

Stupid n00b question.

How the hell do I sign my application?! I made an app in C# and used Visual Studio's "Publish" option. Then it works and everything, but when you go to install it, it pops up "Publisher cannot be verified".

I have no clue how this whole thing works, because I am not entirely sure what it is even called. Digital Signing, Trusted Certificates, and other whatnot... I assume are all incorporated in this...

I just want my app to install when you click setup, and no stupid boxes discouraging installation because I am not signed. I would like to become "signed" however that works? Do I have to pay M$ for a certificate or some crap?

As you can see, n00b in the world program distribution!

Any help would be appreciated.

okay, my car is gettin old and i need more info to be able to diagnosis problems.

I tried testing with the MAX232 chip and the RESISITOR coupled with the diode – all to no avail. Basically, I ended up bunging up my 12277330 ECM (may be recoverable since the power outtage).

The thing that I find amazing is that 89-ish GM celebritys are EVERYWHERE!!! How is it that I can find a *.DEF file for the for ANY program. I tried using ECM852 (probably a wrong thing to do) seeing as how it meesed up my ECM (it may have fix from a power cycle, but I didn’t chceck – simple the codes caused it to bung).

Here is what I have: 1989 Cheverlot Celebrity with an 1227730 ECM>

I need software that will work with it … I don’t care If I have to pay (although nice would be nice).

C’mon … people must have experience with Celebrity … there are millions of them out there.

Plesae send me any and all info that you can.

Thanks,

This tutorial will explain how to change the Flash logo on your FlashDeck skin to an image of your choosing.

This tutorial will explain how to change the Flash logo on your FlashDeck skin to an image of your choosing.

Materials needed:

Adobe Photoshop or GIMP (Free)

Png2swf (Free Trial)

An image file (Google)

Step 1: Create a PNG with a transparent background.

You will first want to get your hands on an image file to work with. Feel free to use your creativity here (Personalized logos, photos of friends and family will work well). Google Images is a great resource if you’re looking to replace the logo with your car’s emblem. One thing to keep in mind while searching for your image is the larger the image, the better your logo will turn out.

Now that you have your image, open it with Photoshop and make sure that the “Layers” and “Tools” windows are open. Begin by selecting the area surrounding your logo with the Magic Wand Tool (W). If the selection bleeds onto your logo you may try lowering the Tolerance level to around 10-25% Note: to select multiple areas at once, hold the SHIFT key down while selecting.

Now invert the selection by clicking SELECT > INVERSE or (Shift+Ctrl+I). Your logo should now be selected. Next, you will want to “Crop” the image by clicking IMAGE > CROP Note: after cropping, the logo should still be selected. Right click anywhere on the logo and select “Layer via Copy” like so:

Next, you will want to delete the Background layer and resize the image. Highlight the “Background” layer and click the trash can symbol in the bottom right hand corner of the layers window.

Then, click IMAGE > IMAGE SIZE… and type in a width and height of 349x349 pixels Note: you may need to uncheck the “Constrain Proportions” box.

Finally, click FILE > SAVE AS… and save your logo as a PNG format (non-interlaced)

Step 2: Convert your PNG to Flash (SWF)

Launch the Png2swf program and click ADD to open your PNG logo. Then, select an output folder and filename and set the FPS (Frames per second) to 20. Hit CONVERT and you’re done!!

Step 3: Copy the SWF logo to your FlashDeck folder

And that’s all folks :)

I have an extremerly generic bt878 card and this worked for me. I'm sure it will work for most cards. First step is to download btwdmdrvinstaller5.3.8.zip
from http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/download.html. This is an .exe that will run and allow you to choose your card from a list then install the drivers for that card. If your card is odd like mine it wont be in the list. If it isnt, download btspy from that same site. Install your original drivers and software, then run btspy and follow all the directions. It will create a .txt
Then run btwdmdrvinstaller again. This time for card, choose custom. The next page will allow you to import the .txt. Then install the drivers and install radiator. All should be working. You may need to mess with some of the radiator settings, but I didn't need to. Here is some more info on btspy.
http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/custom.html
good luck!
