I have Centrafuse 3.0 and I have set it to use the XM Direct plugin, but when I click on the XM Module, all the channel listings just say 0/0...... Is there another way to test if the USB Receiver is working properly? Like a diagnostic of some sort?

Hello,

I recently purchased the Mp3Car USB Adapter for XM Direct to integrate it into iAmp. I used to use a cable I built myself with the FTDI VCP drivers (2.1.x and 2.2.10). Both drivers worked fine. After connecting the mp3car usb adapter I am not able to see the device under /dev/*usb*. The Mp3Car USB Adapter appears in the system profiler under the USB device tree. This is weird since the kernel doesn't see it. If the OS discovered the device it should appear in /dev/ as well as in system preferences>network. I have looked for the VID and PID in /System/Libarary/Extensions/FTDI*/Context/Info.plist and found nothing.

So I ask the question again, has anyone used this adapter with a Mac?

I just installed the MP3CAR USB Adapter bought from MP3Car.com and it connects and decodes XM just fine. But the sound is terribly fuzzy. From my experience with this stuff I feel like the problem could be that the signal to the carputer via 1/8 inch connection to the sound card's microphone might be to "loud" for the soundcard's expected range.

So.. my next attempt was to run the signal straight from the XMD 1000 to my amp in hopes that I could run both the input from the carputer and XM as a merged signal to the amp. But the signal was far too strong to run to the amp without turning the amp down as low as possible. This proved to me that the signal from the XMD1000 was far too loud to be handled easily.

Has anyone had this problem and found a way around it?

P.S. I have my mic level as low as possible in windows and centrafuse. I have a Mini PC by AOpen.

Thanks!

I just purchased this kit from the web store and an trying to install in on my new laptop. An HP TX2114CA laptop that has Vista 64 bit installed on it. I downloaded and extracted the zip and pointed the driver install wizard to the the folder I extracted the zip to. It says no compatible drivers found. I turned off the signed drivers requirement in vista by doing this:

1. Open an elevated CMD prompt (hit Start, type CMD in the search box, and then press Ctrl-Shift-Enter to run CMD as an admin).
2. Type: bcdedit /set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
(Note: That’s DDISABLE — with two Ds — for “Driver Disable.”)

Driver signing should be disabled after you reboot.

What horribly stupid thing am I doing this time? I know it will be funny

Hey all! Just wondering if the xm usb adapter ( http://tinyurl.com/29hnx4 ) sold on the mp3carstore is compatible with the new xmdirect2 tuners? The old universal tuner box has been discontinued and replaced with a much better product IMO ( http://tinyurl.com/yu3nq4 ).

I have the xm passport for my home amp and my current car audio setup. It's great because I can move the passport in between the two systems, but only pay for one account. Would be great if the tuner box could be made to work with the USB adapter as well.

Thanks!
