I've got 2 partiotions on my HDD, the client discspace is probably only the C partitions space. It isn't clear in the server app. But would be if it was the total discspace or each partition, which one could define in the client app.

A small part in the user interface for login and password client/server app, and also and unreadable storage of login/password would be more secure. Offcourse my wireless connection is encrypted, but my wired part of the network isnt, which makes it easy to recover my pass, and leech my pc.

On the file sync, priority is set by the order of the directories as they appear in the list. I haven't checked this but if you edit the .ini file on the server side, you should be able to cut 'n paste the rows in the [directories] section to change the priority. Feel free to give it a go. I'll put something in the server code to allow the rows to be moved around later.

Client disk space is only the c: partition at the moment. It's a bit more work than I had time for in the last release to get all partitions reported, but it's on the work list.

Yep, this is on shutdown, with the release from your website - on XP Pro SP1
in the car (client)

Ok, verry clear, the priority is easy to adjust in the ini, but if you could find some time just simple placements of arrows to switch order would be verry userfriendly.

The discspace, for me it isn't verry important, but as you implemented the feature, it might as well work as best as it can be. Maybe a minor change in the text:"Disc space on clients C drive" would be more accurate. But if you would be able to get more partitions in the server window it would be nice.

Works great, but is it possible to disable user/password screen on client side. Its annoying

I was kinda thinking, just turn pc on and it syncs, now i still need to type login/pass ..

If you are being asked for the user id and password all the time, this means there is something wrong. It is not supposed to do that. You should only get asked for the user id and password once, when the application first starts. After this, they are stored on the disk and read from there each time the app starts up.

I presume this is happening on the client PC ?

How are you guys using this with an Opus?

As I understand it, if you pull into the garage and turn off engine, the Opus will initiate a shutdown (or hibernatation in my case) sequence. By that time, surely EZsynh would have already fired up and begun syncing files.

So questions is, what happens in this scenario? I think the CarPC kill/close the EZsync (along with any other running apps) and shutdown before the syncing can comeplete.

Is there any way around this? I wouldn't want to have to set the Opus to shutdown in 30 mins, because truth be said, I would only envision this synching to occur once twice a week at home (probably accounts for only 5% of all the engine shutoffs)

Ideas?

Justintime,
EZSync can manage partial transfers and can pick up from where it was interupted from.
If I have a lot of data I need to move over I just sit on the drive while the files transfer.

Ric did make available an application that will open EZSync that you can use to hook into your front end (RR in my case) It is not necessary but can be useful to monitor progress.

In addition to what L0gic said, I have the ability to remote boot my Car PC (using one of these and a Carnetix P1280). So if I've got some files to sync when at home I just boot the car up from in the house using the remote, and let EZSync kick in automatically when the car comes out of hibernation.

Once the sync is complete I shut it down with the same remote. I watch the server to know when the sync is done, and ping -t the car to make sure the PC has shut down.

You obviously need to limit the amount of time the PC is on for, but it's surprising how much data you can get down in 10 mins.
